Bank of Japan Faces High Stakes in Upcoming Policy Meeting

Adobe is working on a generative AI video model for its Firefly family. It will bring new tools to its Premiere Pro video editing platform. These new Firefly tools will allow users to generate video and add or remove objects using text prompts, similar to Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature. They will also extend the length of video clips.

Adobe has not set a release date for the new video generation tools. The company only said they will roll out “this year.” The creative software giant showed an early demo of what its own video model can do. But integrating Premiere Pro with AI models from other providers is not a certainty.

Adobe calls these third-party AI integrations an “early exploration” of what they may look like “in the future.” The goal is to give Premiere Pro users more choices. Users could use models like Pika to extend shots or Sora or Runway AI for generating B-roll. Adobe says its Content Credentials labels can identify which AI models have been used to generate clips.

This new technology could change how video editing is done. Editors can add or remove items or extend clips with ease. This saves time and offers new creative possibilities. The combination of Adobe’s tools and third-party AI models could offer even more options.

Video editors should watch these developments closely. These tools may soon be a part of their daily workflow. This could make video editing faster and more flexible, opening up new ways to work and create.
